Communication in an Emergency

In the event of an emergency, effective communication is crucial for ensuring a prompt and coordinated response. Please familiarize yourself with Alverno's emergency communication procedures, designed to keep everyone informed and secure during any unforeseen circumstances.

Alerts will be communicated in the following ways:

• SMS text message (via Rave Alert)
• Phone call/voicemail (via Rave Alert)
• Email (via Rave Alert)
• Alverno website (alverno.edu)
• Campus digital signs
• Computer pop-up alerts

Rave Alert

Rave Alert is Alverno College's emergency notification system that allows you to quickly receive emergency communications and other important information via SMS text message, phone call or voicemail, and/or email. This includes the initial alert, situational updates and all-clear messages announcing an incident's conclusion.

Please ensure your Rave Alert information is up to date each semester.

Examples of Emergency / Rave Alerts

• Severe weather (tornado, winter storm, flooding)
• Emergency building concerns
• Intruders
• Potential safety issues that would affect student health and welfare

How to Register for Rave Alerts

1. Go to the Rave Alerts login page.
   The web browser address is: https://www.getrave.com/login/alverno
2. Log in with your Alverno network username and password.
3. On your My Account page, you will see sections to add Mobile Phone Number(s) and Voice Only Line Contacts. To add a phone number, click Add and follow the prompts.
4. After adding a number, you can Test, Edit or Delete.
5. Parents/significant other numbers can also be added by clicking the Add button.

How to Change or Correct Phone Numbers

1. Go to the IOL login page.
   The web browser address is: https://iol.alverno.edu
2. Log in with your Alverno network username and password.
3. Click on the Student, Faculty or Employee menu on the right side of the screen.
4. Under User Account, click Update My Information and then Launch Form.
5. In the Address Changes section of the form, enter your new or corrected cell phone number.
6. Scroll down and click Submit Changes.

How to Disable Rave Alerts

1. Go to the Rave Alerts login page.
   The web browser address is: https://www.getrave.com/login/alverno
2. Log in with your Alverno network username and password.
3. Click the Red X icon to delete any Mobile Phone Number and the same for the Voice Only Line Contact Number you would like to remove.
4. You can also opt out of SMS text messages by texting STOP to 67283 or 226787.
