An Internal Threat is an individual who is actively causing harm or threatening verbally or through actions to cause harm to self or others inside the College. Examples may include domestic violence or an active shooter situation.
Procedures:
- Run: Exit the building if safe to do so,
- Hide: Be invisible, lock yourself in a room, barricade the door, turn off lights, silence phones,
- Fight: Make a plan with others, over power, throw or hit the person with objects to stop the threat.
Follow directions of responding law enforcement and Alverno College Campus Safety Officers. Have your hands in the air, with your hands open palms facing forward, and move to a safe area as directed.
