Responsibilities of the Department of Campus Safety
The Department of Campus Safety reports to the Vice President of Student Development and Success / Dean of Students. The following list contains just some of the responsibilities of the Department of Campus Safety:
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols (via motor, foot, and bike) on and around campus 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, every day of the year in all weather conditions.
- Respond to security concerns and incidents
- Provide limited emergency medical aid or general first aid
- Provide Safewalks when requested to on campus or limited near campus locations
- Direct efforts in crime prevention, detection and response
- Deliver emergency messages to individuals and when appropriate to the community as a whole
- Maintain the campus Crime Log
- Coordinate Operation ID Efforts
- Operate the College's Lost and Found (FO-G62)
- Assist individuals with room lock-outs, key requests, and ID card access
- Ensure environmental, health and safety compliance for campus
- Provide training and programming related to personal safety and emergency procedures
