General Graphic and Copy Guidelines
-
All event promos need to have the Alverno logo. Click here to download.
- Our color logo should be used on white or light-colored backgrounds.
- Our white logo should be used on dark-colored backgrounds.
- A good place for the logo is in the bottom right hand corner.
- Images used should be clear and high-resolution. Increasing the size of a small image file will create blur and pixelation.
- Make sure any image or graphic used are allowed by checking if it is in the public domain, has a Creative Commons license, or is bought from a licensed stock photo site. Always look at the rules for using the image and give credit if needed. Avoid using images from websites without clear permission or licensing information to avoid copyright infringement.
-
Make sure to include the location, date and time of your event.
- Location: Be specific. Identify the room number, department, etc.
- Date: Clearly spell out the date, including the day of the week — for example, use Monday, October 16, 20XX instead of 10/16.
- Time: No need for unnecessary zeros (for example, use 6 p.m. instead of 6:00 p.m.).
- Have a web address/URL to include? Omit the https://www. so that just the essential part of the URL appears. For example: alverno.edu or alverno.edu/apply.
