Alverno College follows the guidelines set forth in the Family and Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 ("FERPA"), as amended. This is a federal law that regulates the privacy of student educational records and applies to any school receiving federal funds through the U.S. Dept. of Education.
Under FERPA, students have the right to:
- Inspect and review information contained in the education records maintained by the College.
- Request amendment of records that the student believes are inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of the student's privacy rights under FERPA. Please contact the Registrar's Office.
- File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the College to comply with FERPA regulations.
