Malena Taylor, PhD

Malena Taylor, PhD, is the program director of the community psychology graduate program beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Dr, Taylor earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, holds two master's degrees and earned a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Fielding Graduate University. Dr. Taylor's clinical work includes specialty in assessment and treatment with children and adolescents, suicide risk assessment, crisis and trauma work. Since 2016 Dr. Taylor has developed several clinical practice niches such as adults with anxiety disorders, couples/partner counseling, caregiver/first responder fatigue and workplace challenges. Dr. Taylor has worked in higher education since 2020 and one of her favorite activities is mentoring budding counselors. Research interests include multicultural psychology, workplace stress, Latinx issues in education, and BIPOC-identified counselors. Dr. Taylor is also a certified relationship coach for women.
