About the Program

The MSCP curriculum provides an in-depth approach to the study of psychology and counseling within the context of community. You’ll learn the foundations of both community psychology and community counseling.

Your courses will cover such topics as culturally-engaged counseling; research, evaluation and statistics; professional ethics; trauma counseling; and more. You’ll learn how to systematically inquire into relevant counseling practice and to conduct assessments that lead to accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.

Beyond the classroom, you’ll take part in service learning, practicum and internship experiences. Engagement with the community through mindful and relevant interactions is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy.
