Lauralee Guilbault, PhD

Lauralee Guilbault has taught at Alverno College since 1993. Some of the chemistry courses she teaches include Science of Everyday Materials, Foundations of Chemistry, Chemistry of Bio-organic molecules and Analytical Chemistry. She also teaches a freshman seminar on sustainable living, and she teaches a course called “Sustainability and Technology in a Changing World” in Alverno’s degree completion program.

In addition to teaching classes at the undergraduate level, Guilbault teaches in Alverno College’s Girls’ Academy of Science and Mathematics, a program designed to get high school girls interested in STEM fields. The program, started in 2011, brings area junior and senior girls to campus once a week for science and math enrichment.

Guilbault earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Northland College in Ashland, Wis. She earned her PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a member of the Midwest Association of Chemistry Teachers in Liberal Arts Colleges, and previously served as their Wisconsin state representative. She also serves as Alverno’s faculty athletic representative to the NCAA.
