Alverno Community Conference Will Focus on Change Through Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Alverno College will host its annual Community Conference virtually on Friday, April 23 as part of the College’s Teach and Learn Weekend. The theme of this year’s conference is “Reaching for Change: Promoting Equity,” and the goal is to explore how we can promote change through equity, diversity and inclusion. Deanna Singh, author, educator, motivational speaker and champion for marginalized communities will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Her presentation on the Power of Inclusion will kick off the event.

The annual day of learning, which provides an opportunity for the extended Alverno community to share research, new initiatives and best practices, includes workshops, discussions and creative activities. Eighteen breakout sessions will be offered on a variety of topics including LGBTQ+ healthcare equity, cultivating female leaders, racial equity, disability justice, and the impact of COVID on marginal communities.
