David Polachowski
David Polachowski is a fire captain with over 26 years on the Milwaukee Fire Department. He is a nationally registered paramedic and community paramedic. He currently serves as supervisor of the Milwaukee Overdose Response Initiative (MORI) program. David overseas the daily operations of the program, which includes managing two separate MORI teams that consist of two MFD members and one peer support. These teams attempt contact with recent non-fatal overdoses that have occurred within Milwaukee County. The MORI team is also involved in community outreach that helps to provide overdose awareness, Narcan training, and various other items/training pertaining to substance use disorder. In addition, the MORI team attends various community events and is a partner with the City of Milwaukee Community Collective which distributes harm reduction and outreach to the citizens of Milwaukee.
