Character Conference Presenter Bio
Jess Olson
Jess Olson has served as a 6th grade Science Teacher at Meyer Middle School in the River Falls School District for the last 11 years. She completed her Masters degree, where her final action research project centered on the effectiveness of Character Education initiatives on overall school culture. She has since taken on various leadership roles related directly to character education in her school district, which has been recognized as a National School of Character on multiple occasions. Some of her commitments include being on her building’s Character Education Committee and serving as a co-advisor “Girls Who Give Back,” which is a group of students looking to make a difference in their school and community by volunteering. She is a coach of both volleyball and softball for the past 11 years, which has only continued to spark her passion for all things related to character development, even outside of the classroom.
