Character Conference Presenter Bio

Annette Svoboda-Lessard graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in 1992 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. Completed the 11 Principles Framework training both in person at the 2019 WCEP conference and then deepened her understanding through the online certification through Character.org.

In 2020, she became certified as a Social Emotional Artistic Learning (SEAL) teacher. In 2023, earned a Masters of Arts in Art Education degree with research connecting Art Making and Self-Awareness.

She’s currently a 4K-8 art teacher in Wisconsin Rapids School District, who has a passion for social-emotional learning, believing art is a perfect way to learn those important soft skills of life.
