Alverno College Will Hold Its 166th Commencement on December 17
Alverno College will hold its 166th commencement on December 17 as 218 bachelor’s and associate students, 166 master’s candidates and 28 doctoral candidates walk across the Pitman Theatre stage to receive their degrees. The graduate ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. and the undergraduate ceremony will take place at 2 p.m.
Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin on Thursday, December 15 with a Graduation Mass and blessing of the graduates at 5 p.m. in the Chapel of Mary Immaculate. A celebratory reception will be held on Friday, December 16 from 5-6 p.m. in La Verna Commons. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Mo Morgen, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Studies. The undergraduate invocation will be given by Johanna Bryan, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership. The student address, “From Darkness To Light We Blossom,” will be given by Maria Araujo, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Arts in Practice. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Ayisha Benham, who will receive a Doctorate of Education in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education. The graduate student address, “Small Moments, Big Dreams, and Never Giving Up” will be given by Tiffany Wilson, who will receive a Doctorate of Education in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education. Morgen is from Glendale, Bryan and Araujo live in Milwaukee, Benham resides in Pinole, Calif., and Wilson is from Cudahy.
