Alverno College Will Hold Its 165th Commencement on May 21
Alverno College will hold its 165th commencement on May 21 as 159 bachelor’s and associate students, 152 master’s candidates and three doctoral candidates walk across the Pitman Theatre stage to receive their degrees. The graduate ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. and the undergraduate ceremony will take place at 2 p.m.
This commencement will include the first graduates of Alverno’s all but dissertation track, which helps doctoral candidates cross the finish line with one-on-one meetings, extensive feedback, and an accelerated 30-credit program that builds on a student’s previous coursework.
Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin on Friday, May 20 with a Baccalaureate Mass at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Mary Immaculate, followed by a reception for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Angie Haney, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Leadership. The undergraduate invocation will be given by Michaela Sarenac, who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Spanish Language and Culture. The student address, “The Next Generation of Greatness,” will be given by Dajana Draca, who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Management. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Daysi Perez Soto, who will receive a Master of Arts in Administrative Leadership and Director of Instruction, and the graduate student address will be given by Shaquan Jefferson, who will receive a Master of Science in Community Psychology. Haney lives in Kenosha, Wis., Sarenac is from Greendale, Wis., and Draca, Perez Soto and Jefferson are Milwaukee residents.
