The Communication Resource Center (CRC)
The CRC provides writing, reading, and speaking assistance to Alverno students from any major or level. Located in the Computer Center, room RC 109D, you’ll have access to word processing and other software applications that support writing, speaking and reading processes; you’ll also have access to reserved rooms to practice your presentation.

Can you help me figure out if my paper is “supported” enough?
- Yes! Assistance with research and citations is what we do. Also, for assistance with papers, come with your assignment and an idea of your topic.
I don’t really understand my paper or speech assignment. Can I talk out my ideas with you?
- Of course! Come in, we love talking out ideas.
Can you help me with a speech?
- Yes! We can help you with everything from understanding the assignment to making your visual. We can even help you practice your speech in a private room and give feedback on what you can improve and what doesn’t need to be changed!
I have to write a research paper with scholarly sources. Can you help me with research?
- We are ready! Come on down! We can show you how to use the library databases, how to tell if a source is credible and/or scholarly, and even how to use correct APA.
I have to read a professional scientific paper for a class and am overwhelmed. Can you show me strategies to make it easier?
- Yep. We do that, too.
Tutors in the CRC cannot assist with assessments. You must provide written permission from your faculty to discuss an assessment.
